There were reports a few days back which suggested that Samsung will be announcing the launch of a Galaxy Note on August 15th.

Galaxy-Note-10.1-Invite

We expected it to be that of the Note 2 but as the date of the Galaxy Note 2 launch has been set for August 29, the August 15 event is being readied for the launch of the Galaxy Note 10.1 which was first showcased at the MWC 2012.

Samsung has sent out media invites for an event in New York which has an image showing a drawing of a device with the form factor of a tablet which almost confirms that Note 10.1 unveiling.

Also on the other hand, Negri Electronics has tweeted a picture of the Galaxy Note 10.1 in flesh. The GT-N8000 is already on pre-order on their site and ships starting today for $749.50, though it’s better to take it with a grain of salt until we hear it officially from Sammy.

The specs of the Galaxy Note 10.1 also seem to be upgraded as compared to those revealed during MWC 2012 and now arrives with a 10.1 inch PLS TFT display has a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels, powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM, 5-megapixel camera with auto focus, LED flash and 720p video recording, Android 4.0 ICS OS 16 GB internal storage.

Also included in the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be the support for the S Pen which will make using the tablet  much easier and will help in users to enjoy the S Note on the 10.1 inch screen.

Only a few days to go before the Galaxy Note 10.1 is made official and we will bring you all the update straight from the event as it happens.
