Last week ZTE announced two new smartphones at MWC – the Blade V8 Mini and Blade V8 Lite. Both of these come with a 5-inch display, but, it looks like ZTE is now working on a 6-inch phablet which has made an appearance on GFXBench revealing its specifications.
This ZTE phablet has been listed on GFXBench as ZTE Z986. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor which is clocked at 2.0 GHz. It is paired with 2 GB of RAM and also has Adreno 506 GPU in tow. The Z986 boasts a massive 6-inch display, but, it only has a Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution which can turn out to be insufficient on such a massive screen.
The ZTE Z986 has a 12 MP camera at the back along with a 4.7 MP snapper on the front. The phablet comes with 16 GB of storage on board, but, we are pretty sure that it will come with a microSD slot to let users expand the storage up to at least 64 GB via microSD card. The most impressive thing about the ZTE Z986 is that it runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat which is the latest version of Android (7.1.2 is still in beta). We hope to see the phablet running this same version at the time of launch.
While the GFXBench listing revealed all the specifications, there’s no information available about the battery capacity of this device, hence, we will have to wait until ZTE makes this device official. Until then, we expect the ZTE Z986 to make an appearance on AnTuTu and Geekbench as well which would help us confirm its specifications.
