After initially launching the Firefox Mobile OS at this year’s Mobile World Congress, Mozilla announced that the OS would be arriving in selected markets this month. The first to receive was Spain with the debutant ZTE Open.
The ZTE Open is the first commercial smartphone powered by the new Firefox OS. While being in the entry stages, the phone doesn’t offer any breath-taking specs, we still have a decent 3.5 inch display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels.
The ZTE Open is powered by a 1 GHz single core Snapdragon processor along with just 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB of internal storage. The smartphone is also equipped with a 3.2 MP rear camera. The device has the early version of the new Firefox Mobile OS running.
The ZTE Open, which is launched in Spain, would be known for its pricing. The phone costs just 70 Euros (approx. $90) off contract and it also deal includes 30 euros of call credit besides a 4GB microSD card.
