NVIDIA recently showed off its Kal-El Tegra 3 chipset which is the first quad-core chipset for mobiles and handheld devices. Already we are seeing device makers jolting about tablets and handsets that will be using this new chipset.
Chinese manufacturer ZTE recently started showing-off its T98 tablet, which is being said to be one of the very first first Kal-El devices.
The tablet will have a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 chipset, a 7-inch WXGA 1280 x 800 display, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, will run on Android Honeycomb 3.2 and a 4000mAh battery. There will also be a 5MP camera at the back and a 2MP camera in the front.
The T98 is not the first quad-core Android device but it is surely the first boasting NVIDIA’s quad-core chipset. The best part about the Tegra 3 is that it includes a fifth core optimized for low-power operation, which is something we have never seen and cant wait to test out.
No words about the launch date, price or areas of availability, but stay tuned for more.
