Micromax’s YU division recently started teasing its next Cyanogen OS powered smartphone dubbed as Project Caesar. Last week, the company started a contest #YUNameIt to let people choose the name for the next YU smartphone. Well, the people have responded and the device will hit the market as YU YUPHORIA.
The contest has held over 7 days and according to YU, the response was tremendous with more than 1,00,000 entries. The top 5 names from the contest were YUPHORIA, YUKNIGHT, YUNICORN, YUNITY and YOUTH. These five names were put to voting stage from 4th to 6th April and the YUPHORIA name was chosen with the majority of the votes.
YU will also be choosing five random winners who entered the YUPHORIA name and the winners will receive a YU smartphone. The company also reveals that participants won Amazon gift cards worth Rs. 1 lakh throughout the contest.
YU hasn’t revealed when the new YU YUPHORIA smartphone will arrive to the market but we’ll let you know when we get to know.
