While Yu had been teasing its upcoming smartphone, which it claims has crowd-sourced name and specs, the company has now officially launched the Yu Yuphoria.
Yu, a subsidiary of Micromax, has announced the launch of the Yu Yuphoria, which is touted to be the company’s flagship inspired smartphone with a centrally aligned metallic design. The device has a 5.0 inch IPS display with full lamination technology and resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the true 64-bit 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
The Yu Yuphoria has an 8 MP rear facing centrally aligned auto focus camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. There is also a front facing 5 MP camera with 86 degree wide-angle lens. The device runs on the Cyanogen 12 OS which is based on the latest Android Lollipop version with a massive 2230 mAh battery. The handset is priced at Rs. 6999 and would be available exclusively from Amazon India from May 28.
