Xiaomi has had good success in India with most of its devices selling like hot cakes and they plan to take it further. According to a report published by ET, Xiaomi has partnered with The Mobile Store to bring its Mi smartphones to the brick and mortar stores of the country.
The company has only sold its devices through online retailer Flipkart and it recently started selling accessories through its own portal. Now, the company will be selling some of its smartphones offline through The Mobile Store.
Reportedly, the Xiaomi Mi 4 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G will be available at 55 centres of The Mobile Store in the Delhi and NCR region starting today. Their prices will the same Rs. 19,999 and Rs. 9,999 respectively. These centres will also act as service centres for Xiaomi devices.
Xiaomi has previously partnered with Airtel to sell its devices at the Airtel stores across in the country.
Manu Jain, head of Xiaomi India, said to the folks at ET, “This will be the first time that we’re getting into offline trade in India. In China, about 20-30% of total sales through come from telecom operators stores while the rest comes from our online store.”
