Earlier this week, Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi sent out press invites to the media for a launch event that’s scheduled on February 14 in India. While Xiaomi hasn’t revealed the name of the smartphone that it’s going to launch, speculations have been rife that it’s going to be the Redmi Note 5, or, probably the Redmi 5 Plus. Well, thanks to an event page on Xiaomi India’s website, the launch of Redmi Note 5 on February 14 in India is almost confirmed now.
The source code of the event page on Xiaomi India’s website which has a countdown to February 14 launch has ‘redminote5’ mentioned a couple of times, which kind of confirms that the smartphone Xiaomi is going to launch on February 14 in India is indeed going to be the Redmi Note 5 which will be successor to the Redmi Note 4 that was launched in India last year.
That said, there was also a subdirectory on the event page titled ‘redminote5’ which contains an image that shows the number 5 that we saw on the invite Xiaomi sent out earlier this week. Furthermore, the source code of the event page on Xiaomi India’s website also hints at the company planning to market this smartphone as an “all rounder”.
Well, it’s worth noting that last year’s Redmi Note 4 was launched by Indian Cricket team’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Hence, this further adds credence to speculations and rumors that Xiaomi, in all likelihood, will launch the Redmi Note 5 on February 14 in India.
We are exactly a week away from the launch of this upcoming smartphone, and, we are expecting Xiaomi to reveal more information of this upcoming smartphone in bits and pieces in the coming days by sharing teaser images and videos on social media.
MobiGyaan will be present at the launch event on February 14 to bring you all the latest news about this smartphone. Hence, stay tuned to our social media channels for all the updates.
