What could be more natural than a smartphone performing like the last years’ flagship in a budget price? The Redmi Note 3 is surrounded by a metallic body and hidden inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 Soc having a 6-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz for fast performance. Other stuffs to include is the 4000 mAh battery, a 2 GB RAM module and 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded further using Micro SD.
From the last generation, this time, the design is a lot improved. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has a metallic body. Due to its curved design, it is easier to hold in your hands, very comfortable albeit the handset is a 5.5-inch. It weighs around 162 grams. One hand operations can be a tad uncertain since it’s a 5.5-inch device.
As you can see, the device has a fingerprint scanner on the back which can unlock the phone in just 0.3 seconds according to Xiaomi. I think the placement of the fingerprint scanner on the back is just perfect and it fits the best when you hold the phone in your hand.
The front still looks similar to the old generation Redmi series phones, however, the 5 MP front camera placement is now changed to the right side. When you move to the bottom, there are the capacitive touch buttons that do light up.
Talking about the camera, it has a 16 MP autofocus camera on the back with dual tone LED flash of course. The camera module is upgraded as compared to its predecessor. Just below the camera is the fingerprint scanner.
You will also find a speaker grill behind along with the MI branding.
Moving to the sides, on the right, there are volume rocker button and a power button. The physical buttons give a nice feedback.
The left side holds a hybrid SIM tray which can be removed by the provided SIM tray ejector pin. The Redmi Note 3 supports either dual SIM or single SIM + Micro SD.
An IR Blaster is added on the top alongside the 3.5 mm stereo headset port. You will find a microphone on the top. Another microphone is located at the bottom. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has a standard Micro USB port and not USB type-C but it certainly isn’t an issue for most of the users. Is it?
We are excited to test the device and see how it goes. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 and I think is powerful.
