While Xiaomi is gaining popularity for its ultra-affordable high-end smartphones, the company has now launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.
Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, which is the company’s first phablet that would ship with the newly launched MiUI 7, which is based on Android Lollipop. The device has a 5.5 inch IPS display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone is available in two variants – one powered by the 2 GHz octa core MediaTek Helio X10 processor and the other with the same processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, both with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has 13 MP rear facing phase-detection auto focus camera with OmniVision Sensor, 5p lens, f/2.2 aperture, 78-degree wide-angle lens and LED flash. There is also a front facing 5 MP camera with OmniVision sensor, 1.4-micron pixel. The device runs on a 3060 mAh battery. While the handset would go on sale in China later this week, the India launch date is not yet known. .
