Early this year, Xiaomi launched its most affordable Android smartphone offering – the Redmi 3. Now a variant of the handset with a fingerprint scanner has surfaced in China.
A new variant of the Xiaomi Redmi 3 just passed through TENAA in China. While the handset is pretty much the same as the regular Redmi 3, it sports a fingerprint scanner on the back. Other than that, everything else remains unchanged. Sources in the know claim that the handset may be launched in mid-2016 and would flaunt a similar pricing.
The new Redmi 3 variant has the same 5 inch HD display and is powered by the octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. The device is equipped with a 13 MP rear facing camera and a front facing 5 MP camera. We should be hearing more details about the handset over the next few weeks.
