While the sale yesterday just showed the demand for the Redmi 2 in India, Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi Redmi 2A in China.
Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 2A, which is the company’s latest smartphone launched to commemorate the company’s 5 year anniversary. Surprisingly, the handset is exactly the same as the Redmi 2, except for the processor. The device has a 4.7 inch IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core LCI L1860C processor instead of the Snapdragon 410 along with 4G support, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2A has an 8 MP rear facing auto focus camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. There is also a front facing 2 MP camera. The device runs on the Android KitKat version with a layer of the MiUI v6 on top of it. The handset is priced at $97 and is available in White, Dark gray, Bright Yellow, Light Green and Pink colour options.
