While the Xiaomi Redmi 2 has been quite popular in emerging markets like India considering the pricing, the company is now working on its successor.
According to sources, Xiaomi is currently working on the successor to the Redmi 2, which was already mentioned on the company’s leaked roadmap. The project is apparently codenamed as Hermes and would flaunt a metallic body design with some blazing fast specs which are considered exceptional for a budget range phone.
The source claims that the Hermes smartphone, which is the successor to the Redmi 2, would be powered by the MediaTek MT6795 processor along with 2 GB of RAM. Also expected is a massive 13 MP rear facing camera sensor and a front facing 5 MP camera. We can expect the announcement to come somewhere in the second half of 2015.
