After several leaks and teasers, Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi Redmi 2, which is the company’s latest affordable smartphone, in China.
Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 2, which is the successor to the Redmi 1S. The device has a 4.7 inch IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 64 bit quad core Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz along with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2 has an 8 MP rear facing auto focus camera with LED flash. There is also a front facing 2 MP camera. The device runs on the latest MiUI version with a 2200 mAh battery. Like the Redmi 1S, the handset is priced in the affordable segment at 699 Yuan (approx. Rs. 7000) and is expected to go on sale later this week. We are eagerly awaiting its launch in India.
