After months of wait, the Xiaomi MiPad has finally arrived in India. Xiaomi had been promising to bring the device to Indian shores ever since its announcement last year and it’s finally here. The company has launched the Redmi 2 along with the MiPad tablet.
The Xiaomi MiPad tablet features some great specs for its price. The tablet packs in a 7.9-inch display of 2048x1536p resolution making up for a pixel density of 326 ppi. It’s powered by a 2.2 GHz Nvidia Tegra K1 processor with a 192-core Kepler GPU. There’s 2 GB of RAM for your multitasking needs along with 16 GB internal storage and microSD expansion up to 128 GB.
Even though its a tablet, it’s no slouch in the camera department. It packs in an 8 MP rear camera with a Sony BSI stacked sensor, f/2.0 aperture and a 2 MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The MiPad comes with MIUI 6.0 on top of Android and a 6700 mAh battery provides the juice. On the connectivity front, there’s WiFi 802.11/b/g/n/ac Dual Band (2X2 MIMO) and Bluetooth 4.0.
The Xiaomi MiPad will be available through online retailer Flipkart starting March 24 and the good news is there’s no need for registrations. In case you plan on buying one, do check out our hands on with the device and be sure to check out our review, which will be coming soon.
