After quite a few rumours about the Xiaomi tablet, the company has officially announced its new Xiaomi MiPad, which is apparently set to compete with the Apple iPad.
Xiaomi has officially announced the Xiaomi MiPad, which the company claims would beat the Apple iPad. As such it is not surprisingly that the tablet is designed similar to the iPad. The device has a 7.9 inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and ultra-high resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, which results in a density of 326 ppi. The tablet is powered by the superfast 2.2 GHz NVidia Tegra K1 processor along with the 192 core Kepler GP, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi MiPad has an 8 MP rear facing camera with the Sony BSI stacked sensor. There is also a front facing 5 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. The device runs on the Android Jelly Bean version with the company’s proprietary MiUI. The tablet is priced at just $240 and is available in multiple colours including white, blue, green, yellow and pink.
