While the Xiaomi Mi3 is quite well known for its offering, the company now plans to release a successor with even better hardware.
According to sources, Xiaomi is working on the Xiaomi Mi3S which would have a design enhanced with more metal. Also the smartphone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor seen in flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5. Also expected is 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, besides LTE connectivity.
The Xiaomi Mi3S is said to have a similar 5 inch display with full HD 1080p resolution. The device is supposed to have a 13 MP rear facing camera and a front facing 8 MP camera. While the device would obviously launch in China, it would be targeted towards the new Asian markets that the company has recently started operations in. we can expect the announcement by the end of the first half of 2014.
