While we are eagerly awaiting the next generation Mi Note, Xiaomi also seems to be working on the next generation Mi Note Pro and may even release it at the upcoming launch event.
According to sources, Xiaomi is simultaneously working on the Mi Note 2 Pro, which would be company’s premium phablet offering. The smartphone is said to sport a decent 5.5 inch full HD AMOLED display. However, Xiaomi has apparently decided to go with AU Optronics for the display which is said to have 500-nit maximum brightness, an RGB sub-pixel arrangement (instead of PenTile).
Interestingly, the Mi Note 2 Pro is said to be powered by the recently released Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset and would no doubt be better than the flagship Mi 5. The device is said to be available in two variants – one with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage and the other with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
To sweeten the deal, Xiaomi is apparently using a 12 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture (the same used in the Samsung Galaxy S7). Also expected is 3700 mAh battery. While there is no clarity, the handset is hinted to be announced towards the end of August. We would definitely love to hear more.
