Last month, Xiaomi unveiled the flagship Mi 6 with dual cameras and Snapdragon 835. But it seems like the company is working on a lite variant of the Mi 6 with lesser price. Xiaomi Mi 6c codenamed Jason spotted on GFXBench with Snapdragon 660 and 6 GB RAM.
Xiaomi Mi 6c would be a cheaper entry-level model. This might be a direct successor to the Xiaomi Mi 5c launched a few months back with the company’s homegrown Surge S1 chip, not the Snapdragon.
The specs look identical to those of the Mi 6 according to the benchmark. Jason will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 along with a huge 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. It is expected the device would be a 5.1-inch using a 1080p screen and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI on top naturally.
On the camera side, Jason seems to get a downgraded front camera. The front camera is said to have a 4 MP camera sensor, while the rear camera uses a single 12 MP sensor. Since the device is trim down variant of the Mi 6, the specs are much expected.
Xiaomi is yet to announce the Mi 6 in India. Though the company hints the launch by tweeting “What should we do on 23rd July?”, there is no clue about when the Jason is releasing in India.
