Even while the Xiaomi co-founder went on record to state that the company wouldn’t make waterproof handsets due to the effectiveness and pricing concerns, keeping with the trends of other flagship smartphones, Xiaomi may now be considering the feature for the Mi 6.
According to sources out of China, the upcoming flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 would be waterproof. However, the company seems to have had to compromise the 3.5 mm headphone jack in the bargain. However, Xiaomi may go a step ahead and even do away with the charging port by introducing wireless charging for the flagship handset.
Additionally, the flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 is now rumoured to flaunt an iris scanner for added security. While the fingerprint scanner is expected to continue to exist, the iris recognition technology would pit the handset on par with the Galaxy S8 and the likes. Further, as with the Mi 5, Xiaomi may release a top-end variant with a ceramic body.
