After announcing the Mi 5 and Mi 5s last year, Xiaomi has today announced the Mi 5c at an event held in Beijing, China.
The Xiaomi Mi 5c is powered by the company’s in-house Surge S1 octa-core processor which is paired with 3 GB RAM and backed by Mali-T860 GPU. The Surge S1, which was being referred to as Pinecone until now, was also announced today along with the Mi 5c, and, the Mi 5c is the first smartphone that is powered by the Surge S1.
The Mi 5c sports a 5.15-inch Full-HD display and runs on MIUI 8. The device has a metallic uni-body design and weighs 132 grams at a thickness of 7.09 mm. The device also has a fingerprint scanner at the front which is housed on the home button.
