After hearing numerous leaks and rumours, Xiaomi has finally unveiled its much-awaited flagship Xiaomi Mi 5, which was delayed for quite some time due to technical issues.
Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 5, which is the company’s latest flagship offering and the successor to the 2014 Mi 4. The handset flaunts a 3D Glass body with strong glass on the back. The phone is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the Home button and the USB Type-C port. The device has a 5.15 inch curved glass display with 95% of the NTSC gamut, 600 nits brightness and resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is powered by the super-fast quad core Snapdragon 820 processor and would be available in two variants – one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, the other with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 has a 16 MP rear facing auto focus camera with Sony IMX298 sensor, PDAF and LED flash. The camera uses DTI pixel isolation technology and Spectra image processor for better images. There is also a front facing 4 MP camera with pixel size of 2 microns.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 runs on the Android Marshmallow version with a layer of the MiUI 7. The device has a 3000 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The handset is available in Black, White, Gold and Rose colour options. The device is priced at just 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 20900) for the 3 GB variant and 2699 Yuan (approx. Rs. 28300) for the 4 GB variant.
