The much awaited Xiaomi Mi 5 was launched in India yesterday with a price tag of Rs. 24,999. The Mi 5 is Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone which is powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC. With the India launch, the Xiaomi Mi 5 becomes the first Snapdragon 820 powered smartphone to come to India.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 boasts off a uni-body design which is covered with glass at both the front and back, whereas the sides of the phone feature metal frame. It is 7.25 mm thin and weighs 129 grams. The phone is very lightweight and compact and feels very comfortable to hold with one hand.
The Mi 5 boasts off a 5.15-inch Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display which has a brightness of 600 nits. The size of the phone makes it very comfortable to hold with one hand.
Above the display is the 4 MP secondary camera which comes with 2-micron pixels. Along with the camera is the proximity sensor and ambient sensor which is found on all the smartphones nowadays.
Below the 5.15-inch display is the home button along with the capacitive buttons. The home button also houses the fingerprint scanner which can be used to secure features such as Child Mode and App Lock.
The back of the Mi 5 houses a 16 MP primary camera which comes with dual-LED flash, 4-axis OIS and f/2.0 aperture. The Mi 5 houses a 3000 mAh battery which is non-removable.
At the left side of the phone is the SIM card slot which can house two Nano SIM cards. On the right side is the volume rocker and power button. You will have to make do with 32 GB of internal storage as there’s no option to expand the storage.
At the top of the phone is the 3.5 mm audio jack along with IR blaster and secondary mic. At the bottom is the USB Type-C port along with primary mic and a speaker. The left grill houses the mic whereas the right grill houses the speaker.
