The Xiaomi Mi 5 was launched in India in March this year, however, Xiaomi only made the white colored variant available at that time which was having 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. While we are still waiting for the 4 GB RAM variant, Xiaomi has brought the black colored variant in India which is available for purchase right now.
Xiaomi India made this announcement through its Twitter handle. Xiaomi tweeted “❤️ if black is your fav, RT if gold is best. YES, this means you’ll soon be able to get #Mi5 in both these colours!” The black colored variant of Mi 5 can be bought from Amazon India and Flipkart. However, if you are not much into the white and black colors, the Mi 5 will also be available in gold color soon.
For the uninitiated, the Mi 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC which is paired with 3 GB RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. It flaunts a 5.15-inch Full-HD display and packs a 3000 mAh battery to keep things running. The Mi 5 has 32 GB of internal storage with no option for expansion.
The Mi 5 supports Dual SIM and comes with USB Type-C and Fingerprint Scanner housed on the home button. There’s a 16 MP primary camera at the back along with a 4 MP secondary camera at the front. The Mi 5 runs on MIUI 7 out of the box which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. However, it doesn’t have Google Now On Tap and Doze Mode, native features of Marshmallow.
The Mi 5 really is a good phone for ₹24,999, but, the recently launched OnePlus 3 which comes with 6 GB RAM looks a better option for a price of ₹27,999. Which one would you go for, Xiaomi Mi 5 or OnePlus 3?
