While there have been quite a few rumours suggesting that Xiaomi would unveil the flagship Mi 6 at the Mobile World Congress, the company decided to give the tradeshow a skip. However, rumours now suggest that the handset would announced next month.
According to rumours out of China, Xiaomi may unveil the Mi 6 on April 16. While there has been no official confirmation from the company regarding the announcement, the rumours indicate that Xiaomi is now ready to unveil the flagship after some unexpected delays due to technical issues.
While Xiaomi is rumoured to be the first Chinese company to employ the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, this is said to be the reason for the delay in launching the Mi 6. However, unlike earlier reports, the company may not under-clock the processor after all.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to flaunt a 5.2 inch full HD 2.5D curved glass display. Also expected is the Sony imaging sensor which was recently seen on the Sony Xperia XZ Premium. The device is expected to be released in two variants – 4 GB + 32 GB and 6 GB + 128 GB with ceramic body. The handset is expected to be priced starting at 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 20000).
