While it is exactly a year since Xiaomi unveiled the Mi Max stepping in the unconquered domain of 6+ inch display size, the company now seems to be gearing up to launch a successor.
According to sources, Xiaomi would announce the Mi Max 2 on May 23. The company is expected to start teasing the upcoming smartphone in the next few days. The report also indicates a 12 MP Sony IMX378 camera sensor but with a larger aperture. Also expected is a 5 MP front facing camera.
Rumours suggest that the Mi Max 2 would continue with the 6.44 inch full HD display. However, the smartphone would be available in two variants – one powered by the Snapdragon 626 chipset with 4 GB RAM and a higher-end variant powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset along with 6 GB of RAM. Also the battery capacity is expected to be bumped to 5000 mAh.
