The BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition, world’s first Ubuntu Touch OS smart phone is ready to go on sale today. As of now the Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition will be available only in Europe.
BQ Aquaris E4.5 has two variants, one is the Android variant and the other is the Ubuntu variant. Both the models have identical specifications and the only difference is that both run on two different Operating Systems.

Ubuntu Touch OS, a Linux Based OS was announced on January 2, 2013. This Operating System was ported to a number of Android smart phones and tablets so that developers and enthusiasts can test it before Ubuntu is rolled out to the masses. BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition is the first production handset ever to run Ubuntu Touch OS out of the box. It is said to be priced at €169.90 (roughly around Rs.11970). Right now there is no word regarding the availability of BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition in India.
