Now that the Windows phone 8 OS has been officially announced, the launch announcements from different smartphone manufacturers running the new OS are flowing in.
Yesterday we saw Nokia go on-record and reveal that it will launch its Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 in India in November and today HTC India has announced over its Facebook page that it’s Fall/Winter 2012 Collection of devices is coming to India next week.
That is nothing but, HTC is acting quickly and the company is planning to make its Windows Phone 8X HTC and Windows Phone 8S HTC smartphones available in India at-par with the International launches.
Interestingly the HTC 8X and 8S are the signature Windows Phone 8 smartphone and not the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820. We do not have any information on the pricing of the smartphones.
The launch is well in time for the Diwali purchase time in the Indian subcontinent and HTC might be looking to grab as many buyers as possible before Nokia announces its plans for the Indian subcontinent.
It will definitely be interesting to see how HTC markets its HTC 8X and 8S in India and what price tag it arrives with to attract new buyers.
