The WhatsApp calling feature is getting hugely popular even though the rollout process is ongoing for Android. It has become so popular that some scamsters even misused the invite based process. While Android is getting the feature, iPhone and Windows Phone users are still waiting. Well, iPhone users won’t have to much longer if the leaked screenshots are any indication.
An Indian iPhone user published screenshots of what looks like the WhatsApp calling feature on iOS. The WhatsApp version is said to be 2.11.17.444 and it should bring the new feature to iPhone users pretty soon.
The new app version brings some UI changes as well to implement the call feature better. There’s a call button alongside the usual Info button. A new “Recents” tab shows you your previous calls and missed calls. Tapping the call button starts a call with “WhatsApp Call” written on top of the call UI.
Since the feature has arrived on the beta version of the iPhone app, we can expect it to come officially to all users pretty soon. When that happens, we’ll be here to let you know.
