With the increasing number of instant messenger users, one of the leading app, WeChat has seen a growth of nearly 400 percent.
According to the GlobalWebIndex (GWI) Social Q4 2013 report, WeChat recorded a massive growth of 379 percent in the number of users during the period of Q2 to Q4 2013. The reports are based on the survey conducted on 170000 unique individuals spread across 32 markets based in age group of 16 – 64.
WeChat also scored quite a few accolades in 2013. The app was the second most downloaded app in India on the App Store. It was also one of the top three most searched items in the Philippines and the only app in the top ten searched item in Malaysia as per Google Trend 2013.
