Days after Vodafone started offering 4G-ready SIM cards for its customers in Kolkata, Vodafone has now announced the launch date for the service.
Vodafone India has announced that it will launch its 4G LTE services in Kolkata on January 25. As an introductory offer, it would also offer 1 GB of free 4G data on pre-booking the 4G SIM cards. The subscriber is required to send a message Voda4G to 199. The offer is however valid only for registrations made on or before January 24. The free data would be valid for a period of 10 days and would require a 4G enabled handset.
Speaking about the offer, Anand Sahai, Business Head–Kolkata and Rest of Bengal Circles, Vodafone India, said, “Vodafone is the leading telecommunication services provider in Kolkata and our 5 million customers have a lot to look forward to. We want our customers to be 4G-ready so that they can start experiencing the benefits of high speed mobile internet services as soon as they are launched commercially. Hence, we came out with this pre-book offer for our esteemed customers. We are excited and fully geared up to launch our 4G services on the superior 1800 MHz band in Kolkata very soon.”
