Yesterday when Bharti Airtel announced its unlimited free voice calling packs to counter the offers by Reliance Jio, we had predicted that Idea and Vodafone would also launch a similar offer. Now after Idea Cellular officially announced its packs, Vodafone has announced its own free voice calling packs.
Vodafone India has announced the launch of its unlimited free voice calling plans for its customers. The plans, which would be available to both new and existing Idea prepaid subscribers, would come with 28 days validity. The packs would offer unlimited voice calls with bundled data. The pack also offers unlimited free incoming calls on roaming. The operator is also offering 50 MB data for non-4G device users.
The Vodafone free voice calling packs are priced between Rs. 144 – Rs. 149 and Rs. 344 – Rs. 349 respectively depending on the circle. The Rs. 144 plan offers free unlimited Vodafone local and STD calls along with 300 MB of data. Similarly, the Rs. 344 pack offers free local and STD calls to any network in India. Additionally, the pack also provides 1 GB of 4G data.
Clearly, the unlimited free voice calling plans released by Airtel, Idea and even Vodafone closely replicate each other. Given the packs, it is quite possible that these incumbent operators would retain their customers who would prefer adopting these plans instead of switching to issue-laden Reliance Jio network.
Speaking about the offer, Sandeep Kataria, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India, said, “At Vodafone, we remain committed to delighting customers with simple, ready to use solutions to address their various communication needs. With these unlimited calling plans, there will be no need to hold back. Our hundreds of million customers can remain confidently connected and enjoy talking to their loved ones worry free. Our 4G customers will further enjoy the additional benefit of up to free 1GB data along with unlimited calls.”
