With Reliance Jio expected to start charging subscribers for services from April 1, 2017, the new-comer launched the Jio Prime service which would offer the benefits of the Happy New Year offer at just Rs. 303 per month on paying a one-time membership fee of Rs. 99. However, Vodafone has now launched a similar plan to counter Reliance Jio.
Vodafone India said to have launched a new tariff plan priced at Rs. 346 to counter the Reliance Jio Prime service. The pack is said to offer unlimited free local and STD voice calls to any network across India. Additionally, Vodafone has apparently bundled data with the pack. The pack is valid for 28 days.
Interestingly, Vodafone is offering customers availing the new Rs. 346 plan with 1 GB of 3G/4G data for free per day for the duration of the pack. This essentially means that the subscriber can avail 28 GB of data. Further, as an introductory offer, Vodafone is offering double data and double validity benefits on the first recharge. This means users would get 56 GB data for a period of 56 days.
Essentially, this is very much similar to the Rs. 303 plan offered by Reliance Jio to its Jio Prime customers. However, unlike the Jio Prime customers, Vodafone subscribers need not pay a one-time membership fee to avail the offer. The offer is open and can be availed by all Vodafone prepaid customers across the country.
