Putting an end to the privacy issues, Vodafone has now launched Private Recharge Mode for its subscribers in West Bengal.
Vodafone India has announced the launch of Private Recharge Mode for its subscribers in West Bengal. Using the service, subscribers can recharge their mobile phones, without sharing their mobile numbers with retailers. This is aimed at preventing the mobile number from getting exposed to possible misuse.
To avail the Vodafone Private Recharge Mode service, users need to send a SMS “Private” to 12604 (toll-free). Users would then be provided with an OTP which has to be given to the retailer to recharge the mobile number. The OTP would be valid till midnight of the same day and can be used for subsequent recharges.
Speaking about the launch, Arvinder Singh Sachdev, Business Head – Kolkata and West Bengal Circle, Vodafone, said, “With smart phones becoming the single most important storehouse for information, ensuring the privacy of subscribers by keeping their phone numbers private and protected has gained paramount importance. Vodafone is happy to bring one more path-breaking service that will make our customers feel more secure and empowered.”
