While Videocon was the first to offer free incoming calls on roaming, the company has taken a step ahead and also started offering outgoing calls at just half the rate.
Videocon Telecom has announced a reduction of 50 percent in the outgoing call rates while on roaming. After the reduction, Videocon Telecom subscribers would be charged at 50 paise per minute for local outgoing calls against the earlier Re. 1 per minute and 75 paise per minute for STD calls against the earlier Rs. 1.50 per minute.
To avail the discounted rates, Videocon Telecom consumers need to recharge using a special tariff voucher of Rs. 45 which would be valid for 2 weeks. The company plans on rolling out more such offers to set it apart from the other service providers, thus helping it to grow.
Speaking about the new offering, Arvind Bali, CEO and Director Videocon Telecom said, “We are a young and innovative brand and it is owing to these offerings that we have been able to maintain this stance and positioning in the market. Conventionally, benefit of tariff cutters/special tariff vouchers is only given in the home network, and no operator has extended this kind of benefit with 50% straight drop to their customers while roaming, and thus I am pleased to bring this one of its own kind of offering. This is like a true ‘Roam like Home’ scenario.”
