While we have been hearing rumours about an improved display for the upcoming iPhones, Sharp CEO has now confirmed the same.
According to Sharp’s CEO and President Jeng-wu Tai, Apple has decided to use OLED display for next year’s iPhone. The company will shift from the existing LCD panels to OLED panels. The company was apparently in talks with LG and Samsung to source in OLED displays for the upcoming iPhone devices.
The Nikkei Asian Review had reported that Apple has planned three iPhone models for the upcoming 10 anniversary of the iPhone devices. While the smaller 4.7 inch and 5 inch devices are expected to flaunt a LTPS display whereas only the premium 5.5 inch iPhone would sport the OLED display panel. We are awaiting more details.
