As announced earlier, the Ubuntu touch OS has been released for the developers to play around with the richness of features the OS provides. The developer preview of the OS is currently available on all Nexus devices.
The Ubuntu 12.10 Touch developer preview is aimed towards developers who want to explore the endless avenues available with the new Touch OS. The OS preview is available on all nexus devices, the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, except Verizon and Sprint Galaxy Nexus devices.
The OS would require a fresh install and would wipe out all previous data from the device. All the basic functionalities like phone calls, SMS messages, Wi-Fi networking, and web browsing, and front and back cameras are working properly, but the other apps are in early stages and contain a lot of bugs.
The Ubuntu 12.10 Touch developer can be downloaded from HERE using the device code name like “manta” for the Nexus 10 or “mako” for the Nexus 4. Also a full guide to flash and install the new developer preview has been provided to make it simpler to install.
