Entering the music domain, Twitter is getting ready to announce a new music app for its users this weekend.
Recently, Twitter acquired We Are Hunted music start up and is said to be using its music recommendation engine technology to power its music app. The app would offer the users to discover new music through Tweets, Trending Artists and Suggestions based on the user’s followers.
Using the app, users can stream music from with-in the browser using a cloud server based audio streaming service called SoundCloud. Also all the tweets with the #NowPlaying hashtag would be shown on a separate tab within the app.
While the average user would have to wait till the end of the week, Twitter has already released the app to selected influential celebrities, including American Idol Judge, Ryan Seacrest. The company is hoping for positive feedback about the app from the celebs which would help promote the app. But the rest of us will have to wait till next week to try out the app.
