Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited has once again emerged as the only congestion-free network in a recent report by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
In the report for Q3 –FY08, TTML’s network has recorded zero congestion across all its Points of Interconnect (POI). POI signifies the ease with which a customer of one network connects with a customer of another network. TRAI has set a benchmark of less than 0.5 percent, which means out of 200 calls between two operators, there should be a single call facing a congestion problem. This is the 3rd consecutive report that establishes TTML as the best network in its geographies. The Company was also recently rated as the No.1 wireless telecom service provider in overall customer satisfaction across Mumbai and Maharashtra in independent studies commissioned by TRAI.
Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Haridev Khosla, President–Network, Tata Teleservices
(Maharashtra) Limited, said, “We have now achieved the status of being congestion-free in three consecutive TRAI reports. This stands testimony to the investments we have made in our network, and our determination to continuously improve and provide the best for our subscribers.”
The report:
TRAI, in its latest Network/POIs congestion report of the Cellular Mobile Service Providers (CMSPs) for the months of October, November & December 2008, states that “The non-provisioning and insufficient provisioning of telecom circuit resource as per traffic requirements leads to:
• inter-network congestion at the Point of Interconnection (POI)
• loss of calls
• repeated call attempts by consumers
• deterioration in Quality of Service (QoS)
• consumer dissatisfaction”
