While we have seen quite a few watch makers getting into the smart watch race, luxury watch maker Tag Heuer is the latest to join with the Tag Heuer Connected.
Tag Heuer has announced the launch of the Tag Heuer Connected, which is the company’s first Android Wear smartwatch inspired by the TAG Heuer Carrera. The watch has a 1.5 inch round transreflective LTPS LCD display made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. The watch is made grade 2 titanium which is an ultra-light and scratch-resistant metal and has a sandblasted, carbide-coated titanium bezel with anti-fingerprint coating.
The Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch is powered by a dual core processor with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. The watch has just one titanium push-button with black, carbide-coated line fine-brushed and raised with TAG Heuer shield. The device has Gyroscope, tilt detection sensor, microphone and haptic engine. The watch is compatible with all devices running Android 4.3 and higher and iOS 8 and higher.
The Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch has a Vulcanized rubber strap with grade 2 titanium folding clasp and safety push-buttons. While it comes in a standard black rubber strap, it would be available in six colours including blue, red, green, orange, white and yellow. Interestingly, the watch comes with a two year warranty after which you can trade it in and the company will transform it into a regular mechanical watch. The Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch is priced at $1500.
