We already had an insider revealing that the first Android One handset is expected to be launched in October. Now, Spice has reaffirmed our reports.
According to sources, Spice Mobiles is set to launch its first Android One handset in India just in time for the festive Diwali season. The handset is expected to be launched by the Android Chief, Sundar Pichai, who is expected to make an India visit in October. Not just that, but Spice also is gearing up to launch the Firefox OS smartphone in India, which is supposedly priced below $25, before that.
Spice Mobiles was one of the first partners for Google’s ambitious Android One project which aims at providing decent quality hardware with regular software updates at very reasonable prices. Not just Spice, but Micromax, Karbonn and Celkon are expected to announce their Android One handsets in the same time-frame.
