We’ve been hearing rumors that Samsung is working on the successor to its Tab S line of tablets and today, we have some latest info on the same. The specification of the 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2 has leaked, thanks to a new benchmark listing.
When we recently reported about the new Samsung tablets, we also mentioned the reports suggesting that the new tablets will come with 4:3 aspect ratio and in display sizes similar to Apple’s offering. While the benchmark listing suggests the new Tab S2 will feature a 9.6-inch display, we’ll say 9.7-inches, considering it can get the display size a little wrong sometimes.
The display should be Super AMOLED and will come with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. According to the listing, the device is powered by a new Exynos chipset, which has the big.LITTLE architecture with four Cortex-A57 and four Cortex-A53 cores. The chipset comes with maximum clock speed of 1.9 GHz. The graphic needs will be handled by the hexa-core Mali-T760MP6 GPU.
The listing reveals 32 GB of storage and 3 GB RAM. There should be microSD expansion of course like most other devices from the company. The camera is listed to be 7 MP for the fear, so we’ll say 8 MP, considering the app also report wrongly when it comes to camera resolutions. There’s also 2 MP camera on the front.
The new tablet is listed to be running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Other rumors suggest that the device will feature a metal frame just like other recent and upcoming Samsung flagships. Reportedly, it will also be thinner and lighter than the iPad Air 2. Right now, we have no idea as to when the South Korean giant plans on unveiling the device but we should know soon.
