While the Sony Xperia Z2 was launched in India today, the company unveiled the successor to the Xperia ZL in Japan.
Sony has announced the launch of the Sony Xperia ZL2, which is the successor to the Xperia ZL, which by the way was the slimmed-down version of the Xperia Z. While the design is almost synchronous to the Xperia ZL, the handset is water-proof and dust resistant unlike the earlier version. Interestingly, the specs are closely similar to the Xperia Z2.
The Sony Xperia ZL2 has a 5 inch display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. The smartphone is powered by the quad core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz along with the Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
The Sony Xperia Z2 has a 20.7 MP rear facing camera with 1/2.3-type Exmor RS for mobile CMOS image sensor with the Sony G lens. There is also a front facing 2.2 MP camera. The device comes installed with the latest Android KitKat version and a fixed 3000 mAh battery. Pricing or the global available of the handset is yet to be revealed.
