Sony’s previous flagship, the Xperia Z1 is still a great device when it comes to specs and it is bound to get even better, thanks to the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. The Japanese company has announced today that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now rolling out to Xperia Z1 devices globally.
The Android KitKat build for the Xperia Z1 goes by the 14.3.A.0.681 firmware. The rollout surprisingly has started a while ago and to be exact on 19th March. The update brings all the goodies of the latest Android update. Along with that, Sony brings improvements to the camera performance and updates to the camera app. There is also an enhanced email app along with stability, performance & battery improvements.
You can check for updates on your Xperia Z1 by going into Settings > About phone > Software updates > System updates. You can download the update over-the-air (OTA) or through Sony’s PC software. Since the rollout is gradual, it might take a while to reach every region, so we suggest you to be patient and keep checking once in a while. Do tell us if you receive the update.
