The Sony C660X which is code-named as ‘Sony Yuga’ has leaked a few times and is said to be arriving with a 5-inch full HD display.
And today, the guys at XperiaBlog claim that the Yuga will arrive officially as the Sony Xperia Z with IP certification for dust and water resistance.
The Sony Xperia Z is said to arrive with Ingress Protection (IP) rating of IP55 and IP57 which is also available on Xperia acro S and Xperia V. The 5-inch display of the Xperia Z is to pack in the ‘OptiContrast Technology’ which is also found in Sony Xperia V and Xperia Tabet S.
According to Sony, The ‘OptiContrast Technology’ delivers a richer viewing experience thanks to a special resin layer which has a special resin layer which absorbs any diffused light delivered from the backlight thus giving a clearer display to users.
According to the source, the final dimensions of the Xperia Z will be 139 x 71 x 7.9mm and the 5-inch full HD display will have a PPI of 443.
We expect Sony to unveil the smartphone as early as at the upcoming CES 2013 in second week of January.
