Sony has today announced two additions to its Xperia line with the introduction of the Sony Xperia GX (Hayabusa) and Xperia SX, which are the first LTE-capable smartphones for its consumers in Japan.
Just yesterday we saw images of the Sony LT29i Hayabusa leak and it was rumoured that it would go on to be called the Sony Xperia GX and today we see Sony making the device official. The images that leaked yesterday go on to match with the official images of the Xperia GX.
The specs of the Xperia GX also match as were rumoured earlier and it goes on to arrive with
- 4.6” Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine for razor-sharp clarity
- 1.5GHz dual-core processor for faster performance.
- 16GB internal flash storage.
- 13MP camera with Sony Exmor R for mobile, HD video recording, and Sony technology to take 3D panoramic images
- Launching on Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich
- Available in white and black
The Xperia GX arrives with a curved back which we told you about yesterday and it also reminds us about the Xperia Arc.
Next up is the Sony Xperia SX, which is the lightest LTE smartphone in the world, weighing only 95 grams and Sony has combined with it a sleek and simplistic design with high functionality.
Specs of the Xperia SX include

- 1.5GHz dual-core processor for faster performance.
- 8GB internal flash storage.
- 8MP camera with Sony Exmor R for mobile, HD video recording, and Sony technology to take 3D panoramic images
- Japanese specific features such as infrared port data exchange, mobile wallet and mobile TV.
- Launching on Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich
- Available in black and white
Other than these, Sony has included HDMI connectivity and DLNA streaming in the devices and the LTE connectivity is capable of up reaching to 75Mbps download speed. Sony is yet to announce the pricing of the devices but they’ll arrive in Japan from Summer, 2012.
