With the increasing demand for smartphone is the Rs. 10000 range, global handset makers are trying hard to compete with the local manufacturers, which currently dominate the sector. As such, Sony has announced the Sony Xperia E1 in India.
Sony has announced the launch of the Sony Xperia E1 and the Sony Xperia E1 Dual, which is the dual SIM version. Other than the support for SIM, both the device have the exact same specs. The handset sport a 4 inch display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The phone comes with a dedicated Walkman key helps directly launch the Sony Walkman app to play music on the 100 dB built-in speaker, which the company claims cannot be interrupted by a motorcycle.
The Sony Xperia E1 is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragon 200 processor along with just 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. There is small rear facing 3 MP camera. The phone runs on the Android v4.3 with a 1700 mAh battery. The single SIM version is priced at Rs. 9490 and would be available starting from March 25, whereas the dual SIM version is priced slightly higher at Rs. 10490 but will be available from March 10.
