We just saw the new Sony Xperia T2 Ultra smartphone. But Sony has more in store, it also announced the Sony Xperia E1 budget smartphone.
The Sony Xperia E1 is an entry level smartphone with a slightly modified design with metal build. The smartphone has a smaller 4 inch display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The device is powered by a low end 1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragon 200 processor along with just 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal storage.
The Sony Xperia E1 is equipped with a small 3 MP rear facing camera. As of now, the Android version is not known, but the 512 MB RAM does hint towards the latest KitKat version, if not we can expect to see at least v4.2. The phone also has dual SIM support and would mainly be targeted towards the emerging smartphone markets.
Speaking about the Sony Xperia E1, Calum MacDougall, Director of Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications, said, “Xperia E1 combines the best of Sony’s audio technologies with a premium design and great hardware to create a smartphone for people who want to express themselves out loud. It’s a new, music focused player in our Xperia line-up that is underpinned by the best of Sony’s design, display and content offers.”
