As suggested by the rumours late yesterday, Sony has indeed officially announced the first smartphone dedicated for selfies – the Sony Xperia C3.
Sony has announced the launch of the Sony Xperia C3. The handset, which is just a mid-range Android smartphone, focusses on selfies and has a 5 MP front facing ‘PROselfie cam’ camera with 80 degree field of view. Surprisingly, there is a soft LED flash also. The device flaunts a 5.5 inch display with the Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
Besides the massive front facing camera, The Sony Xperia C3 also has an 8 MP rear facing wide-angle camera Exmor RS sensor and LED flash. The phone runs on the latest Android KitKat version with a 2500 mAh battery. The handset is available in black, white and mint colours and is expected to launch globally, including in India, in August.
