Sony at its MWC 2019 event in Barcelona, Spain announced the Xperia 1 with 21:9 display. But that’s not the only smartphone that features a 21:9 display. Sony has announced two more smartphones – the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus – that come with displays having 21:9 aspect ratio.
Sony Xperia 10
The Sony Xperia 10 features a 6-inch 21:9 display having Full-HD+ resolution. The display is covered with Gorilla Glass 5 for protection against scratches and drops.
The Xperia 10 has small bezels on the left, right, and bottom of the display, but its top bezel is pretty big, which we personally think looks ugly. Until now, we have seen smartphones come with tiny forehead and big chin, so this design language does make the Xperia 10 look different from the rest of the smartphones in the market.
The Xperia 10 is powered by Snapdragon 630 SoC that’s coupled with 3 GB RAM. The smartphone runs Android Pie out-of-the-box and has 64 GB of internal storage.
The photography department on the Xperia 10 is handled by dual cameras – 13 MP and 5 MP – at the back, and an 8 MP camera on the front. Like the Xperia 1, the Xperia 10 also lets you record movies in 4K resolution in an aspect ratio of 21:9.
As is the case with other Sony smartphones, the Xperia 10 also has its fingerprint scanner placed on the right side. It is offered in Navy, Black, Silver, and Pink colors, and packs a 2870 mAh battery under the hood that fuels the entire package.
Sony Xperia 10 Plus
The Xperia 10 Plus looks the same as the Xperia 10, but it’s the hardware that differentiates the both.
The Xperia 10 Plus comes with Snapdragon 636 SoC which is mated to 4 GB RAM. It has a slightly larger 6.5-inch display, and the same goes true for its battery which has a capacity of 3000 mAh.
Like the Xperia 10, the Xperia 10 Plus also rocks a dual-camera setup at the back, but the combination is different here. The dual-camera setup on the Xperia 10 consists of 13 MP and 5 MP cameras, whereas the setup on the Xperia 10 Plus consists of 12 MP and 8 MP cameras. Moreover, the Xperia 10 Plus features 2x optical zoom which is missing from the Xperia 10.
Apart from these differences, everything else across the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus remains the same.
